Earwax Removal / Micro-suction

We offer private earwax removal treatments in the convenience of your own home. We will always aim to book you in within a few days.

What is Earwax?

It is normal to have earwax, necessary in fact. But what is it? A combination of dead flattened cells, cerumen (the wax-like substance), sebum (the slightly waxy and oily substance found on skin), and other foreign substances such as dirt and debris. Earwax cleans and protects your ear canal by getting rid of any excess dirt in an almost conveyor belt fashion. It provides lubrication and it helps to trap dirt and repel water.

What do we do?

We use highly effective micro-suction equipment to remove every trace of wax that may be blocking your ear canals. This non-invasive technique is a preferred method amongst most ENT professionals and should only be carried out by trained clinicians.

Using a video endoscope we are able to show you the current view of your ears before removing the wax. We will do this once again after the procedure is complete. A brief history of the health of your ears is required, as well as consent to carry-out the treatment.

As a precaution we advise the use of oil for a couple of days prior to being seen, however with our equipment this is not always necessary.

What our clients say about us:

Truly an exceptional standard of home visit care. At 102 years old mother no longer wishes to go out to be treated and nothing ever worked. We could not believe the wonderful service we received from Essex Hearing. Kind and professional. Mother is now hearing perfectly. Something she has not done for years. She has had wax removed and it has not returned. And all in the comfort of her own home. Wonderful.
